This Saturday, October 17 – No Kings/Hands Off our Vote Rally!

No Kings Early Vote Event

Join us on October 17, 2026 from 10am-noon at Albert Johnson Park for the No Kings Vote Early event. It’s a day of nonpartisan voter participation, being in community with each other, and making sure every eligible voter has a plan, knows their options, and is ready to make their voice count. We will have voter information, voter registration, non-perishable food drive, music and at 11am we will be marching over to City Hall to participate in early voting. Our democracy depends on every eligible voter having the freedom to participate without intimidation, interference, or barriers.

Reminder:  At all general meetings we collect food donations (non-perishables) to top off FCC’s “The Pantry”.  Donations can be dropped off on the table as you enter FCC.  There will only be one monthly meeting each in November & December because of the holiday season. 

Project Jupiter Update

    • On September 17, 2026, the New Mexico Supreme Court voted unanimously to lift the stay on the Project Jupiter air quality permit, allowing the permitting process to resume immediately.  No new date has been announced.
    • Update on the suggestion made at 8/9 meeting to ask county commissioners for equal time as Oracle had to do a presentation on “Why we oppose Project Jupiter” – met with 2 county commissioners and they are open to the suggestion.  After many follow-ups this idea and the greater idea of allowing other Las Cruces groups to conduct similar presentations is “on hold” pending further review and discussion
    • Project Jupiter Table at 10/17 “Hands Off Our Vote” Event
    • Continuing to Collaborate with other Progressives (STOP PROJECT JUPITER CAMPAIGN) on initiatives; under discussion is an Education Night somewhere in Sunland Park/Santa Teresa area
    • Continue to support the “Get Daisy Elected” to county commissioner, District 1 campaign as permitted by our by-laws
