ITEM #1: Indivisible Las Cruces Photography & Recording Policy at Demonstrations and Public Events
Our Commitment
Indivisible Las Cruces (ILC) is committed to protecting the privacy and dignity of everyone who participates in our demonstrations and public events. While photography and video recording are common at public gatherings, we recognize that not everyone wishes to have their image shared online or in ILC communications. We respect those wishes, and we ask all ILC members and supporters to do the same.
Policy Statement
ILC will proactively seek permission before photographing or recording individuals at our events, and will honor all requests not to be photographed, recorded, or have images shared publicly. This policy applies to ILC members, volunteers, and any individuals acting on behalf of ILC when capturing or distributing images from our events.
Guidelines for Photographers and Videographers
Before capturing images or video:
- Ask before you photograph or record individuals, especially those who appear in the foreground or are otherwise identifiable.
- Be alert to verbal or nonverbal cues — a hand raised in front of a face or a spoken “no” means do not proceed.
- Be especially mindful of individuals who may face personal or professional risk from public association with political activities.
- Before sharing or publishing images:
- Do not post, share, or distribute images of identifiable individuals without their consent, even if the image was taken in a public place.
- If someone who appears in an image later requests its removal from ILC channels or your personal channels, honor that request promptly.
- When sharing crowd shots or wide-angle images, use your judgment: if individuals are clearly identifiable and central to the image, seek consent before posting.
Designated Event Photographers
When ILC designates an official photographer or videographer for an event, that individual will be identified to participants at the start of the event. Participants who do not wish to be photographed should make themselves known to the designated photographer, who will make every reasonable effort to exclude them from shots intended for ILC use.
Removal Requests
If you appear in an image or video shared through ILC’s official channels and wish to have it removed, please contact an ILC organizer or board member directly. We will act on removal requests as quickly as possible. We also encourage members to extend this same courtesy on their personal social media accounts.
The Spirit of This Policy
We are a community built on trust, mutual respect, and inclusion. Our activism is most effective when everyone feels safe participating. This policy is not about limiting documentation of our work — it is about making sure that documentation never comes at the expense of a fellow participant’s comfort, safety, or privacy.
Thank you for helping ILC be a place where everyone can show up fully.
ITEM #2: Watch the video replay of the Indivisible sponsored “From Extraction to Accountability, Addressing Private Equity in Healthcare” Link to YouTube Video: https://youtu.be/
Sheri Reinhart and Kelly Jo Waggoner of Indivisible Las Cruces joined Peter Goodman and Walt Rubel to discuss the organization’s origins, its approach to civic engagement, and the upcoming No Kings Rally 3 – scheduled for Saturday, March 28th, from 10 a.m. to noon at Albert Johnson Park. The guests described how the Las Cruces chapter has grown steadily, from roughly 1,500 attendees at the first No Kings Rally to nearly 3,000 at the second, and emphasized that the movement is intentionally peaceful and community-centered. The conversation also touched on how Indivisible operates and its relationship with the national organization, which provides training and grant support while leaving local chapters autonomous.
